Where to buy Mallorca Property For Sale

When looking to buy property in Mallorca, you may be searching for a quiet village location and a luxury country house or Finca? Alternatively, you may wish to find a real smart city / town Apartment in Palma to furnish with all mod cons, plasma, LCD TV etc etc? Either way, location will be as important to you as property size or type. Your choice of location will of course be driven by your buying criteria. If you are moving to the Balearic Islands for your retirement, then an apartment close to the beach on a busy resort may not be your ideal property. Look carefully at all of the options available on the Island. Most resort towns such as Cala d'Or or Cala Bona, though on opposite sides of the Island, will, as popular beach holiday resorts, come with their fair share of hotels, car rental dealers, shopping areas, stores and apartment complexes.  You may of course choose to buy on Mallorca because you are fed up with renting vacation homes year after year. Paying rental prices if, like so many others, you have fallen in love with the Island can become quite a costly and painful exercise! The upside of buying on the coast, is that you will never be far away from some of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the mediterranean, where with your purchase you are sure to share some of the best temperatures with a cooling sea breeze and if you choose carefully, just a handful of visiting tourists. Balearic Islands (Illes Balears)

The Balearic Islands are an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea, near the eastern coast of Spain. There are four large islands, of which the largest is Majorca, followed by Minorca, Ibiza and Formentera. There are also a small group of islands called Cabrera which are mainly uninhabited. The archipelago forms an autonomous community of which the capital city is Palma de Mallorca. There are also other large towns: Alcudia (Majorca), Cuitadella and Mao (Minorca) and Eivissa (Ibiza).

The official languages are Spanish and Catalan but there are three other languages: Mallorqui, Menorqui and Eivissenc.

There are three international airports. One in Palma Mallorca, one in Mao Menorca and another in Eivissa Ibiza (which also serves Formantera). There are also a few private air fields. There are a number of ports across the islands which make it very easy to move between the Balearic Islands and to and from the mainland.

The population of the Balearic Islands is just over one million but the islands receive in excess of 20,000,000 visitors, (including second home owners), per year that arrive on the islands to profit from the long hot summers, short mild winters and the very pleasant, spring and autumn seasons that the islands have to offer.
